Between Florence and Pisa there is another beautiful city of art, Lucca.

Lucca is ideal for walking or cycling, the historical center develops within the historical walls and only few cars circulate in the internal streets. Walking on the walls you can turn the city from above and reach the most interesting points.

The Duomo, dedicated to San Martino, is a beautiful example of Lucca Romanesque, on the facade, above the three large arches there are low-reliefs depicting the cycle of the months and the stories of San Martino; after a few meters we reach the most famous street of Lucca, the Fillungo. Shops, clubs, wine bars, ice-cream parlors, bookshops overlook this street that crosses the entire historic center. On the Fillungo is the beautiful Piazza dell’Anfiteatro which hosts characteristic bars and shops and where, in summer, a stage is set up for some music evenings.

Lucca is also famous for its events; every year at the end of October Lucca Comics & Games attracts a lot of fans of comics, science fiction, videogames, so as to make it one of the most important fairs in the world of the sector, second only to the Tokyo Comiket and first in Europe.

During the summer is held the Lucca Summer Festival, a music festival that every year grows and collects very important artists of international fame.
