Siena is one of the Italian cities placed among the sites declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Internationally famous as one of the most impressive art cities in Europe, the historical center of Siena has remained almost identical from the Middle Ages to today giving the city an immense artistic and cultural value.
Much of this heritage is collected in the heart of the city, or in Piazza del Campo, the famous arena that twice a year becomes the protagonist of the Palio. In the square are the Municipal Palace, the white marble Chapel and the Fonte Gaia.
Not far from this monumental complex that still represents the political center of Siena, is also its religious heart. This is Piazza del Duomo, so named for the presence of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The cathedral is a beautiful example of Italian art where are collected masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello, Pinturicchio.
Siena occupies a beautiful valley where three rivers converge: Arbia, Merse and Elsa. Around the city stretches green fields and gentle hills covered with vineyards and olive groves.
